Dining Guide to Siem Reap

Siem Reap is a city in Northern Cambodia that is known for its famous temples of Angkor. But it is also a beautifully modern city filled with businesses, restaurants and hotels. Whether you are looking for a traditional Khmer meal or a chic coffee bar, you’ll find what you are looking for in Siem Reap.

Breakfast in Siem Reap

If you are staying at Templation, you have to order a floating breakfast. The breakfast menu is creative, beautiful and delicious! Go for the “Asian” and the “local” sets, along with a few extras and you will be well fueled for a day of hiking through ancient ruins! Enjoying a decadent breakfast all in the comfort of your private pool at your villa is one of the most luxurious experiences you can have on a trip. And Templation does it well, they servers come and deliver the food, arrange it beautifully on the floating tray and then place it in the pool for your enjoyment.

And if will be heading to see the Angkor Wat sunrise at 4 or 5am, ask the front desk to arrange a packed breakfast for you. They will send you off in the early morning hours with a delightful box full of fruit, pastries and some drinks.

Lunch at Templation Siem Reap

Then for lunch either you should either head back at Templation or head into downtown Siem Reap. At Templation you can enjoy their full menu of modern Asian fusion. We tried the beef salad, chicken curry, the pork belly and their brand-new panna cotta dessert. It was all such a fresh take on Southeast Asian cuisine.

And if you want to head into downtown, there are tons of options, whether you are looking for traditional Khmer food or a trendy smoothie bowl. We tried the traditional dishes at Khmer Kitchen near Pub Street and then headed down the street to the Little Red Fox Espresso shop for some ice coffees.

Where to have dinner in Siem Reap

For dinner you have to head to the Dining Room for a traditional Khmer dance show and a fabulously fresh seafood dinner! Start with a watermelon salad and then order the seafood tower for plenty of locally sourced delights from the sea. It doesn’t get better than dinner and a show!

And for the next night of your stay, if you are craving some French food head to the stylish Khema for some European classics. Dishes like the tartare, smoked salmon, cobb salad are all a must for starters. And then for main courses grab a burger and some pasta and maybe the steak frites if you have an especially large appetite.

And then after dinner head up the street to the beautiful Malis for some drinks. The beautiful architecture and the classic Khmer atmosphere make for the perfect night out in Siem Reap.
