Tesla Revamps US Test Drive Page, Hinting at New Model 3 Highland’s Arrival

Tesla has discreetly updated its Model 3 test drive page in the United States, sparking excitement among electric vehicle aficionados. Notably, the page no longer showcases the former generation of the Model 3, but rather, it now displays the striking red, upgraded Model 3 Highland. This subtle change has fueled speculation that the American debut of this updated all-electric sedan might be just around the corner.

Eagle-eyed EV enthusiasts, sharing their insights on X, the platform once known as Twitter, were the first to spot this intriguing update. What’s particularly interesting is that this change seems to be exclusive to the US test drive page. In contrast, other regions serviced by Tesla’s Fremont Factory, like Canada, continue to feature the previous generation model on their respective pages.

Further deepening the intrigue, Tesla has also refreshed the images of the Model S, Model X, and Model Y on its US test drive page. Unlike other territories, where the Model 3 S3XY lineup is represented with simple avatars, the US page now boasts aesthetically pleasing photos and brief descriptions of each vehicle’s unique features. This meticulous attention to detail suggests that the inclusion of the Model 3 Highland image was a deliberate move, not merely an oversight.

The Model 3 Highland has been catching eyes in the United States more frequently over recent weeks. Several of these vehicles, interestingly, bear Tesla China badges and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) indicating their production at the Fremont Factory. A number of these Model 3 Highland units have also been seen with decals marking them as engineering vehicles.

First unveiled in late August 2022, the upgraded all-electric Model 3 Highland has, until now, been an exclusive offering in regions supplied by Gigafactory Shanghai. Its potential launch in the US has been eagerly awaited, given that the Model 3 is not only a joy to drive but also Tesla’s second most popular vehicle.

Adding to the mounting anticipation, a recent post on the r/TeslaMotors subreddit — purportedly by a Tesla employee and verified by the subreddit’s moderators — hinted that an announcement regarding the upgraded Model 3 might be made later this month. The post also suggested that the initial US release of the Model 3 Highland would focus on the base Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant, adding another layer of excitement for Tesla enthusiasts and potential buyers.
