Labor Day is right around the corner; do you have a weekend getaway planned? If not, don’t worry. Here are 7 last minute Labor Day Getaways you should take! Read on for some major relaxation inspiration!
1) A Boston Staycation
To all my Bostonians out there, if you don’t have a trip planned, why not take a staycation right here? Boston is amazing at the end of the summer. Head to a Red Sox game and enjoy an amazing night here in the city.
2) Labor Day Getaways – Take the Ferry to Provincetown
Been avoiding Cape traffic all summer? Don’t worry you can still enjoy our famous Cape Cod National Seashore by taking the ferry to Ptown from Boston.
Only 90 minutes long, the ferry jets you to summer vacation bliss without all the headaches of driving. So jump on the ferry head to Provincetown!
3) Head Down to Miami
Miami is my new favorite weekend getaway spot. Only a 3-hour flight from Boston and plenty of accommodation options, Miami is a convenient trip for New Englanders. Read our city guide to Miami for restaurant and activities recommendations!
4) Take a Road Trip to Maine for Labor Day
They call it Vacationland for a reason. Maine has miles and miles of coastline and dozens of charming seaside towns. Some of our favorites are: Camden, Portland & Higgins Beach. Whether you take a day trip or spend the weekend at one of the fabulous country inns, I can guarantee it you’ll have an amazing Labor Day!
5) Head to a Local Beach Over Labor Day
It’s crazy how fast summer always flies by, have you made it to the beach yet? There are plenty of beaches within an hour of Boston. Take a day this weekend and enjoy the end of the summer! I love Nahant Beach, which is about 30 minutes north of the city and Duxbury Beach, which is 45 minutes south of the city.
6) Go on a Boston Food Crawl for a Staycation

Will you head to the North End or Chinatown or maybe Eastie? Go somewhere you don’t typically head to and I’m sure you’ll find some new favorites!
7) Hop on Skyscanner and Take a Last Minute International Trip
One of my favorite things to do is to put in some dates and an open-ended search into Skyscanner and see what pops up. As long as you are willing to be flexible on destinations, you can usually find a good deal. So, if you are itching to really getaway, start searching now!
