1) Things to Do in Tuscany: Rent a Car

There are a few different cities you can fly into when visiting Tuscany; Bologna, Florence and Pisa are the most popular. No matter where your point of entry is, renting a car at the airport will be the easiest and most efficient way of getting around if you plan on hitting a few different destinations on one trip. Sixt is a great option for renting a car since it is known for offering high end and interesting vehicles that are unique to the country you are in.

While visiting Italy, we would recommend going completely native and trying out an Alfa Romeo. We recently rented an Alfa Romeo Guilietta and absolutely loved it.

2) Visit Museo Ferrari

Speaking of Italian cars, visit Museo Ferrari on your next Tuscan adventure. There are actually two Ferrari museums in Tuscany, one in Modena and one in Maranello. They each tell part of the story of the international brand, which is still headquartered in both of these locations.

Learn about Enzo Ferrari’s rise in the motorsport world and see some of the earliest versions of the super cars we all love today, trust me there are lots of beautiful red cars to check out so even if you aren’t that into cars, you will love it. And for the car enthusiasts there is an “engine museum” where you can see the progression of the amazing Ferrari engines from their start in the early 1900s to modern day.

This is a daily ritual you will find across Italy, but each region does it a little differently. In Firenze head to the lobby bar at the Four Seasons to treat yourself to some amazing small bites and craft cocktails or a glass of wine. Sit back, relax, converse with your friends and soak in the afternoon after what was probably a busy day of seeing the sights.

5)Things to Do in Tuscany: Climb the Duomo

Who doesn’t love a 360-degree view? In Florence the place to get this is at the top of the Duomo. A few pro tips, you need a timed ticket to climb to the top of the ‘dome’ to reach the top of the Duomo. These tickets can be purchased across the street from the Duomo in a small shop called the street, here you can buy combination tickets to visit the Duomo and the tower. The ticket will include access to the whole property, but you will need to make a time reservation for the dome climb. And beware, the climb is quite challenging even for those who are relatively fit, so wear comfortable shoes, and prepare yourself for a lengthy climb to the top, but don’t worry it is well worth it! The views are incredible, the red roofs of the city are just a beautiful site to see on your trip to Tuscany!
