Things are starting to open back up in Boston and luckily salons are a part of phase one. For so many people, a trip to the salon is much more than a haircut, it is an act of self-care and a major esteem booster. I know I am excited to head back to the salon to not only trim my overgrown mane, but to also support a sector of small businesses who have been severely affected by the lockdown. I want this to eventually become a complete guide to reopened salons in Boston so I will be updating this post as regularly as I can. If you are a newly opened salon in the Boston area, please email me and I will get your information added.
Reopened Boston Salons
G2O Spa & Salon – One of my go-to spas and salons in Boston is G2O. Conveniently located on Exeter Street in the Back Bay, G2O is taking all the necessary precautions to reopen and is excited to work with clients again! Their Director of Marketing & Advertising, Christina Gallardo, says, “Beyond our initial opening, this has been the largest project in regards to reimagining our concept for public health. We’ve always worked to anticipate the needs of our clients from service and product offerings, to client servicing and technology. As leaders in the beauty and wellness space, there is a due diligence to ensure our clients feel safe and that others in the industry see us an example.” The team at G2O has undergone extensive training and preparation in anticipation for reopening, including: all stylists have been Barbicide + Barbicide Covid-19 certified, stylists will wear masks, face shields/protective eyewear, gloves & disposable aprons, all clients will be given disposable capes, dividers have been installed in between shampoo chairs and much more.
Salon Marc Harris – Salon Marc Harris opened on May 26th and also has a complete guide available on their website that lists their protocols for reopening. Reopened Greater Boston Salons
The Parlr Salon (Framingham, MA) – You all know that we live in Downtown Boston, but I was excited to have a salon in Framingham reach out to me called the Parlr. They will be opening on June 1st and they have a beautiful 11,000 square foot studio. Their entire team has made extensive adjustments in their protocols and practices to open safely and comfortably for their clients, including: installing a medical grade air filtration system, implementing social distancing signage and processes, having their complete staff trained on the Barbicide + Barbicide Covid-19 certification and much more. For a complete run down of all the hard work they have put into their reopening plan head to their Instagram and watch their “COVID” IG story.
