Ocean Edge Resort Cape Cod

Cape Cod is one of our all-time favorite summertime destinations and thanks to global travel restrictions, we have had a lot more time to visit than we typically do. We recently made a trip down to Brewster and had the quintessential Cape Cod weekend. Read on to find out where we stayed (Ocean Edge Resort Cape Cod!), what beaches we went to (Brewster!) and where we ate (lots of great places!)!

Where to Stay on Cape Cod

There are so many different experiences to have on the Cape. This time around we were looking to have an active weekend filled with swimming, golf, kayaking and long walks on the beach. The perfect place to do all these things was at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster! Located on the Lower Cape, Ocean Edge is about 2 hours from Boston (with minimal traffic), but once you cross the Sagamore Bridge, we always let out a sigh of relief because life is just a little more relaxed on the Cape. The ocean air does wonders at wiping away stress, which is exactly what we need these days.

Ocean Edge is a spacious resort offering lots of different accommodation types. We stayed in the ‘Villages’ near the golf course in a 3-bedroom villa.

We drove down to the Cape in a little rainstorm on Thursday night, but when we arrived, we were greeted with the most amazing sunset we’ve seen in a while. The sky was ablaze with orange and pink hues and it was just the perfect way to kick off our stay. We dined at the Ocean Terrace and got to take in the sunset all evening as the sun went down over the water.

The next morning, we woke up early and took a lovely walk on the beach and enjoyed that fresh salty air! Afterward we treated ourselves to a sumptuous breakfast at Ocean Terrace.

After breakfast we headed back to the beach and enjoyed the soft sand and the amazing ‘Brewster Flats’, which is a phenomenon in this part of the Cape where the tide creates a gentle and slow low tide, with the water stretching for what feels like miles at a very shallow depth, making the beach safe for kids and so much fun to enjoy all day as you can just wade in the water as much as you like.

Dining at Ocean Edge Resort

Ocean Edge has lots of different dining options available on site. There is of course the Ocean Terrace restaurant, which offers fine dining in the evenings and breakfast and lunch during the day. But this summer the property also opened up a brand-new pop up on the front lawn.

There are wood-fired pizzas and craft beers on the menu along with some tasty treats like smores nachos and Nutella dessert pizza. So, this is just the place to head to after a long day at the beach. Grab a sail tent and just enjoy the afternoon and watch the sun go down.
