Las Vegas was actually the last trip we took before the shutdowns last year and we were so excited to be finally making it back to Las Vegas a year later. Las Vegas has done an amazing job bouncing back and there are so many reasons to make a trip out west this spring. Keep reading for 5 reasons why you should visit Las Vegas this Spring.
1) A New Hotel! The Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is Open
Las Vegas certainly has no shortage of amazing hotels, however, there is one brand new one that you will want to check out. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has opened—just off the Strip. This spacious, yet intimate hotel brings a funky, retro twist to Vegas. The stunning exterior gleams gold amongst a curated desert of cacti and palm trees as you pull up to the property and you exit under an enormous canopy at the main hotel entrance. As you enter there is a delightfully streamlined lobby on one side and a chic lobby bar on the other—and of course, this is Vegas, after all, there is a brand-new gaming floor at the heart of it all!
The property will have 9 onsite eateries by this summer, the pool is nearly complete and there is also a luxurious spa. The hotel has over 1,500 rooms and suites.
While the hotel is not on Las Vegas Blvd. it is just around the corner, so it is removed enough from the hustle and bustle to provide a relaxing getaway, but close enough to the action to remain a convenient option no matter what you have planned for your stay in Las Vegas.
The rooms are a true highlight of this property, the chic mid-century modern décor is combined with futuristic touches making the rooms just the place you want to be after a busy day (or night!). Go for a King Suite with a Strip view and you will not be disappointed when you visit Las Vegas! The view of the Strip and mountains is just gorgeous and the spacious living and sleeping areas make this feel like a stylish apartment rather than just another hotel room. The bathrooms are sleek and modern as well as glass showers, deep soaking tubs, and large vanities.
2) The Weather
Springtime is the perfect time to visit Las Vegas—crisp, dry sunny days are abundant—you will rarely break a sweat when strolling outside, making for a comfortable mid-70s forecast. If you want to explore Vegas, walk The Strip, shoot some classic photos at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign or just soak it all in, this is a great time to visit because you miss the chilly winter nights and you are too early for the summer heat. And if you are coming from the Northeast, like us, trust me a little sunshine goes a long way this time of year.
3) The Food
This is another thing that Las Vegas has no shortage of—great restaurants. With celebrity chefs like Wolfgang Puck and Gordon Ramsey having outposts here, you can indulge all the senses at their restaurants when you visit Las Vegas.
For fine dining, one can’t-miss spot is Bardot Brasserie at the ARIA Resort and Casino. The classic French cuisine and stylish ambiance make it just the place for date night. However, if you are not looking to indulge too much, head to Truth & Tonic at Canyon Ranch at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. This vegan restaurant is headed by Chef Pete Ghione, who as a vegan himself is on a mission to make his food even more delish than a conventional meal so that non-vegans will be excited by his healthier options, while not sacrificing on flavor.
And finally, if you are looking for a spot to sit outside and soak up the sun, HEXX at the Paris Las Vegas is the patio to see and be seen. This spot overlooks the Fountains of Bellagio and has one of the best bottomless brunches in town.
4) Downtown
Vegas isn’t just about the Strip—not that it isn’t enough, it certainly has plenty to offer almost any traveler. However, Downtown Las Vegas has so much to offer as well and has a bit more laid back, old-world feel. The Circa Las Vegas may not be on Las Vegas Blvd, but it has all the glitz and glam of its cousins on the Strip. Barry’s Downtown Prime has all the atmosphere of a vintage steakhouse rolled into a chic modern restaurant reminiscent of something you’d find in New York. Chef Barry prides his restaurant on serving up quality steaks, high-end appetizers, and deliciously craft cocktails, all in a luxe environment. And after dinner, if you are looking for a little more excitement, head up to the 60th floor to the panoramic rooftop bar the Legacy Club, for some cocktails with a view!
5) When in Vegas—Try Something New
Vegas is one of those places where you can really do and see it all—if you know where to look! From the dining to the shows to the shopping, Vegas can be whatever you want to get out of it and on this trip, we tried a few new things! First, when we visited The Venetian, we chose to enjoy the gorgeous weather on a gondola ride in their Venice recreation, and the atmosphere is just so much fun, it is definitely worth a visit—especially during this amazing spring weather. Second, once the sun goes down, you all know that the other major highlight of Vegas is the neon lights. And the best way to enjoy these is from above. Maverick Helicopters offers nightly helicopter tours of the Strip where you get to enjoy the views of the dazzling lights and buildings from a bird’s eye view. When in Vegas!
