Miami is one of our all-time favorite destinations and this year we realized that one of the main reasons we love it so much has nothing to do with the beach! Brickell is our favorite neighborhood. We love its cosmopolitan vibe, chic atmosphere and food scene so much that we have gone back several times since first visiting this January.
Where is Brickell?
Brickell is located in Miami proper on Biscayne Bay just South of Downtown and Wynwood. Brickell enjoys waterfront views, a cosmopolitan skyline filled with high end towers and a food scene so vibrant, you would need to live there to experience it all. Brickell is an amazing destination in its own right, but it is also centrally located so you can be on South Beach in 15 minutes or admiring the Wynwood Walls in 10 minutes.
Where to Stay in Brickell
Brickell has no shortage of great places to stay but our favorite is EAST Miami. EAST is a Hong Kong based hotel brand and they pride themselves of bringing the perfect amount of work and play to a destination. And that is exactly what we want when we visit Brickell. Located in the Brickell City Centre, EAST is in the heart of it all.
Every room has its own balcony so you can enjoy the balmy Miami breeze as soon as you wake up each morning and the views of both the city and the water—there is a gorgeous view from every vantage point. They also have several eateries right on-site including a coffee shop in the lobby, a pool level Uruguayan restaurant named Quinto, and a rooftop bar called Sugar. All three are worth trying! I also hear they have a secret tearoom speakeasy, but we have yet to check that out!
