There are so many amazing destinations within reach thanks to nonstop flights from Boston. The Turks and Caicos has to be one of the best. However, what makes a trip to the Turks and Caicos even better is when you are staying on a private island. Pine Cay is the private island you need to visit in the Turks and Caicos.
Pine Cay in the Turks and Caicos
Pine Cay is a private island where there are about 40 private homes and one hotel. Pine Cay is now a member of Relais & Châteaux and you immediately see why when you arrive. With only 10 rooms and 2 villas, the property never feels “full”. It feels like you are at a country club in the best way. There is an incredibly high retention rate for the staff and that internal comradery is palpable. The hotel also gets so many repeat guests each year and now that it has gone through a complete renovation, I’m sure that trend will continue.
Accommodations
Each room has direct private access to the beach, with a reserved pupala and beach chairs so there is no need to wake up early to score the best seat at the beach. Everyone has the best seat at the beach! It honestly feels as if this is your private beach house, that comes with a club house where you eat all your meals. The rates are all inclusive, so you get breakfast lunch and dinner, and they are all made to order, making this feel even more like a country club in the best way.
What to do on Pine Cay
The number one attraction on the island is the beach. With miles of private beach, this is where you will spend most of your time. With the clearest water you have ever seen it will be hard to get out, but the white sand beach is a beautiful place to spend time as well. And in the peace and quiet of your own private area, the lack of lines of umbrellas and waters rushing around is such a nice change of pace from the mega resorts on the other parts of Turks and Caicos.
But if you want some more excitement there are also water sports available, as well as spa treatments and pretty much anything else you can imagine can be arranged. But be sure to also check out the picture-perfect pool as well if you get tired of the sand. This beautiful pool is set up for Instagram as well as you can get the perfect shot if you have a friend head upstairs in the clubhouse.
After a day enjoying the spoils of mother nature, be sure to set a timer for 6pm as the place for a sunset cocktail is the Tiki Bar on the beach. An evening tradition pretty much all the guests head over for a cocktail and to chit chat while enjoying the amazing sunset over the ocean each night. Pine Cay is the private island you may not have heard of but that you need to visit in the Turks and Caicos.
