With over two decades of dedicated service in the industry Mr. Bakas welcomed the opportunity to join Anantara Hotels Resorts & Spas in 2014, commencing his journey as Front Office Manager at the esteemed Sir Bani Yas Islands Resort. September 2021 marked a pivotal transition for Mr. Bakas as he assumed the role of Hotel Manager at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, where he adeptly led a team overseeing the 293-key property. Mr. Bakas brings his wealth of experience to his role as General Manager of Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat.

This newly opened resort is incredibly versatile, offering an element of surprise in every corner. While strategically located halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, it truly provides a getaway atmosphere. Not only does it offer a sense of escape, but its unique design adds to the overall resort experience, creating a wow effect upon guests’ arrival.

What is your favorite thing to do at Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi in the peak season?
Creating a robust experience and fostering strong connections and interactions with guests onsite, while also observing how team members embody the brand values. During peak times, it’s gratifying to witness guests enjoying the experience while being served by cheerful team members.
What is your favorite thing to do there in the off season?
Exploring different strategies and business models for food and beverage experiences requires the agility to shift and adapt. We currently do so with our new Ramadan Iftar offering.
What is something special you are working on right now?
We are developing our inaugural Iftar experience, which merges the spiritual and exclusive aspects of our destination. Our goal is to ensure that guests feel engaged and connected during this special time of the year.
