Looking to learn the fine art of high end concierge services? Eric Jausseran, Director of Experiences Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton Street, Boston, shared a bit about his background and role at the iconic Boston hotel and private residences with us.
Tell us a bit about your background
I grew up in the south of France and arrived in the US in my mid-twenties. For two decades I worked for the French Embassy as the Cultural Attaché at the Consulate in Boston, promoting French culture throughout New England in collaboration with leading cultural and academic institutions. I then shifted to the private sector and worked in Public Relations for three years. One of my clients happened to be Mr. Friedman’s (Dick Friedman) firm, Carpenter & Company, the real estate developer behind the new Four Seasons One Dalton.

What attracted you to the FS One Dalton?
I literally fell in love with the project, the audacity of the architecture, the level of luxury associated with the building design, services and amenities, the Back Bay location, and the professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the Four Seasons team. I knew I had to be part of it right from the start.
As background, I joined the team in spring 2019 and our first Residents arrived during the summer months. I went from building a community of Francophiles for the Embassy to creating— from scratch— a community of residents at Boston’s most exclusive address. To help promote a sense of connection, as well as memorable experiences, we proposed a sophisticated year-round calendar of Cultural and Lifestyle experiences and exciting events.
I have always been very interested in defining what constitutes a true luxury experience. I knew our offerings had to be about authenticity, uniqueness, and a little bit about l’art de vivre of course! I was blessed that Four Seasons shared this vision for this new property.
What part of the job do you like best?
To have Carte blanche from Four Seasons to build a community, to help create meaningful connections between our Residents one event, one interaction, and one experience at the time. This is the most rewarding aspect of my job.
Outline the experiences you design for One Dalton residents
Creating programs that truly enrich our Residents’ lives is always what we aim to do.
Nothing builds a sense of community and fosters friendships more than working together to raise and trim the sails or taking the helm of a legendary racing yacht! This is exactly what we offered our Residents last summer when we sailed together on the extraordinary 1962 America’s Cup WinnerWeatherly in Newport. This experience was followed by a long and lovely lunch, before returning to One Dalton. Residents absolutely appreciated the gorgeous day and the connections made.
Earlier this year, we organized a private visit to one of Boston’s cultural gems, TheIsabella Stewart Gardner Museum, followed by a lunch with the Curator. Our community particularly cherished the opportunity to spend time and interact with the renowned Curator who oversees the Museum’s extraordinary collection.
Creating experiences that feel exclusive, distinctive, and deeply personal is our goal. Such priceless and one-of-a-kind experiences were also offered during a two-night event:
Residents were invited to a recital by world-renowned pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, guest artist at the Boston Symphony Orchestra who received a standing ovation from 2,400 spectators following an amazing performance. The following evening, we hosted an elegant and convivial dinner in our private lounge with the French born, Los Angeles-based pianist. Residents loved the chance to share a meal together with an extraordinary, yet humble artist, and our special guest appreciated the warm and genuine welcome from our community.
Can you share some memorable experiences from the events you curated?
Creating unique, enriching events of understated elegance is our main mission and our passion. In doing so, we have succeeded in sparking beautiful friendships among our remarkable community of Residents. Many who first met through the program now spend weekends on the Vineyard or Nantucket together or travel to Europe together. Enriching the lives of our Residents is truly rewarding.

Being able to create authentic and genuine connection is key. And as Will Guidara wrote in his recent bestseller, “hospitality is a selfish pleasure. It feels great to make other people feel good.”
How does this program differ from other residence concierge offerings?
At One Dalton, I am part of a wonderful team who assists our Residents in their daily activities, responds to special requests, provides the legendary Four Seasons service 24/7, and creates one-of-a-kind programs, events, and experiences.
