Winter is in full swing here in Boston so a staycation away from the hustle and bustle could be a nice way to beat the cabin fever. The Newbury in Boston certainly agrees and has launched a new “fireplace program” that makes it one of the coziest places for a staycation in town.
But before we dive into why you should book a stay at the Newbury this season, let’s check out my favorite cocktail on their menu right now!
Campfire Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
1 oz Don Julio Reposado
1 oz Montelobos Mezcal
.5 oz Toasted Marshmallow Syrup
Dash of Mole Chocolate Bitters
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake until chilled and pour into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Top with a charred marshmallow for garnish.
The Newbury Fireplace Suites
The Newbury has some amazing fireplace suites and these suites all come with the use of a fireplace butler!
The program is available in the hotel’s Fireplace Suites and includes a curated hearthside, in-room dining menu, and the services of a Fireplace Butler. With 42 of these suites available, locals and visitors alike can enjoy a cozy upgrade to their Boston stay while overlooking the Public Garden. Each suite features a plush king bed, wood-burning fireplace, separate living and sleeping areas, and a marble bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower.
Guests can select their preferred wood for the fireplace, including birch, cherry, oak, and maple, and the Fireplace Butler will set up the fire for them for the perfect cozy evening in.
The in-room fireplace menu offers a range of savory and sweet options, including grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup, artisanal cheese platters, smores, and molten chocolate cake. And you can even order your very own campfire cocktail as well!
