Boston in the Winter

Boston is a beautiful city no matter what the season. And even in the winter, where it can be quite chilly, it is still a wonderful place to visit. Here is a quick itinerary for a winter in Boston trip!

Where to Stay

For views, luxurious accommodations and a great location, head to the Royal Sonesta this winter. We recently visited on Valentine’s Day for their “Love Royally” event and got to check out the accommodations as well!

Located right in the middle of Kendall Square, the Royal Sonesta Boston offers stylish, modern rooms, plenty of dining options and sweeping views of the Boston skyline.

Perched up in your room, you can see for days, it is the perfect way to relax on a chilly day before venturing out to explore Boston and Cambridge. Being located in Kendall Square means that you can easily jump on the T to get anywhere on either side of the Charles!

At the Love Royally event we enjoyed plenty of dinner and dancing!

What to Do

We Bostonians are used to the cold and the snow. So we have found plenty of other things to keep us busy during the winter months. And the newest on that list is brewing your own beer! Hopsters Brewing Co. just opened up in the Seaport and you can actually come in and make your own beer, you get to choose the style and the flavor and a brewmaster teaches you about all the little nuances that go along with brewing small batch beer.

It’s the perfect activity for a group of friends on a chilly afternoon. And during the brew process, which takes about 2 hours, you have time to relax and sample a few of the many Hopsters brews on tap, along with the tasty pub food on the menu.

After you are finished brewing your beer, you get to design your own label and come back 2 weeks later for the bottling process!

The perfect pairing!

Where to Shop

Boston has so many great places to shop, Newbury Street, the Pru, Copley Place and Downtown Crossing. Downtown Crossing has recently enjoyed a Renaissance and my favorite store is mostly to thank for that—Primark!

Located right on the corner of Summer and Washington Streets, Primark is a 4-floor fast fashion house from Ireland. And it is amazing! With so many great styles daily, it is the perfect place to pop in for anything!

The other day they hosted Student Night with Her Campus and it was a great night. With djs, a braid bar and lots of other fun goodies, attendees had a blast!

I love Primark because the fashions are always on trend and they get rotated in and out frequently, so you are never seeing the same thing on the shelves. So come over to Downtown Crossing and check out Primark on your next trip to Boston!
