Unplugging on ACK

I love visiting Nantucket in the off season. No crowds, crisp weather, it’s great. And for this trip I was able to unplug with the brand-new Palm on ACK!

visiting ACK

The Palm is a new device, a simpler smartphone that encourages you to enjoy what you are doing rather than what you are “missing”. It’s tiny (1.99in by 3.8in)! About the size of a credit card, it weighs just over two ounces so you won’t even feel it in your pocket.

Meant to be your secondary device, it makes calls and sends texts for your regular phone number. The Palm is perfect for weekend trips a night out when you want to simply enjoy wherever you are and the company around you. What better place to unplug than Nantucket?

Where to Stay on ACK

We stayed at our favorite boutique hotel on the Island, 21 Broad. A Lark Hotel, 21 Broad has all the charm of a historic property in a historical setting, but all the modern amenities we love. The modern rooms and design are clean and comfortable.

The chic seaside décor and the daily small plates breakfasts make the experience memorable on ACK.

21 Broad even has a beautiful porch where you can relax before exploring the town and a large back deck where you can enjoy your breakfast on a sunny day!

What to Do on ACK

Nantucket in the fall is a magical place because you are free to explore all the spots that are usually packed to the brim in the warmer months. So you should definitively check out our favorite spots like: Sconset, Miacomet Beach, Brant Point Lighthouse and Main Street.

These are all great photo spots and without the crowds you are sure to get that perfect ACK Insta!

And once you are finished with your photo tour of the island, why not do a little shopping downtown? Downtown Nantucket is home to some cute boutiques and popular Northeast brands. We popped into Jack Wills and grabbed Drew a few new fall items, perfect for Fall in New England!

I loved using my Palm on this trip because when we were exploring I didn’t have the distraction notifications popping up when I was trying to take in the scenery.

After shopping, why not head over to Cisco Brewers and do what the locals do, relax by the firepit with either a locally brewed beer or a local wine.

Where to Eat on Nantucket

Nantucket has become quite the foodie hub lately. There are so many great spots still open in the fall. We had dinner at the quintessential Nantucket dining spot, the Brant Point Grill at the White Elephant. The classic New England eatery, “BPG” is a can’t miss. With a menu filled with Nantucket delicacies like Wauwinet Retsyo oysters, lobster and bay scallops, BPG is the place for the seafood lover.

And once again, we were able to really enjoy a nice romantic dinner without the distraction of our phones thanks to the Palm.  We still had the convenience of using Google Maps to get us around. Have I mentioned it really is the tiniest thing? It fit in my pocket so easily!

Boston to ACK

We love our road trips, so we took our car with us to Nantucket. With ferries from the Cape, The Steamship Authority makes getting to and from Nantucket easy. If you don’t need a car on the island, you can hop on the high-speed ferry which only takes an hour dock-to-dock! The Steamship Authority has plenty of options for fall getaways to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
