Ski season is not over yet! If you have been following along on Instagram, you know we totally caught the ski bug this year and visited the Swiss Alps, the French Alps and of course several of our favorite spots in New England. Read on to check out our visit to Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont.
The Lodge at Spruce Peak
The Lodge at Spruce Peak was formerly known as the Stowe Mountain Lodge, but after Vail Resorts purchased Stowe Mountain, the resort went through a rebrand. Located at the base of Spruce Peak, visitors can either just hop out of bed and walk over to Spruce Peak or head over to the Easy Rider gondola to hop across the street to Mt. Mansfield. Either way you will be enjoying ski on ski off access all weekend to Stowe Mountain Resort.
The accommodations at Spruce Peak are perfect for families, couples and groups of friends. With options for standard guest rooms and multi- bedroom suites, your whole group can stay together at Spruce Peak.
What to Do at Spruce Peak
Ski or snowboard of course! Obviously if you are going up to Vermont, skiing and snowboarding should definitely be on your to do list! From the convenience of the ski valet at the lodge, head up to the mountain in the morning, grab bite at one of the many on property eateries for lunch, head back out for a few more runs in the afternoon and then once you have had your fill of runs, check out some of the other activities available right on site like ice skating or dog sledding. And once you are ready for a little R&R head to the spa to pamper yourself. I personally recommend the Stowe Cider Salt Scrub, which is a 100-minute treatment comprised of an exfoliating scrub and relaxing massage.
Where to Eat
As any skier knows, a day on the mountain certainly builds up the appetite. But don’t worry there are plenty of dining options at the Lodge at Spruce Peak.
Firstly, when you wake up in the morning head to Solstice for the perfect breakfast. Then for lunch head back to the lodge to enjoy the tasty sushi bar that pops up each afternoon.
Grab a few gourmet rolls and a tasty cocktail. Then for dinner, head back to Solstice for the Chef’s Tasting Table, which is located right in front of the kitchen so you can enjoy all the action while you dine on your special menu and local wine parings.
And if you’re lucky, afterwards head to the secret speakeasy called the Linehouse (if you can find it!).
Bonus Offerings at Spruce Peak
The Lodge at Spruce Peak is filled with goodies, so be sure to spend a few days to enjoy them all! In addition to amazing skiing, a fabulous spa and delicious dining guests can also enjoy complimentary use of the property’s fleet of Mercedes vehicles, including AMG SUV’s and the popular G Wagon.
Leave your car with the valet and take one of these out into town to grab a bite to eat. Another insider tip for Spruce Peak is that every Saturday at 3:30, there is a complimentary toast at the Whistlepig Pavilion. Everyone gets a free taste of Whistlepig as well as a freshly made snack. And lastly, save some time for the outdoor hot tub and heated pool!
