The beautiful beaches, scenic villages and delicious dining available on the island makes for a chic, relaxing trip. We recently flew from Boston to Nantucket for an amazing local summer getaway, keep reading for our guide on how to travel from Boston to Nantucket in style!
Flying Cape Air From Boston to Nantucket
Cape Air has been ferrying people around New England since its first flight from Boston to Provincetown in 1989. The airline offers year-round service to places like: Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Provincetown, Hyannis and Bar Harbor. While Cape Air started in Massachusetts, they also now operate in the Caribbean, Midwest and Montana (in addition to all the New England summertime favorites!). The flight from Boston to Nantucket takes just over a half hour and guests fly on one of its Cessna aircraft. Since the airplanes are on the petite side, you won’t be dealing with crowds of people on your flight, there will be a pilot, yourself and only a handful of other guests on your flight.
Visiting Sconset, Nantucket
On our recent trip to Nantucket, we flew into ACK and hopped into a taxi to ‘Sconset! Sconset is a charming village located on the Eastern side of the island and we visited the amazing new Cannonbury Lane development, where we stayed in one of Blue Flag Partner’s gorgeous homes.
Just steps from Low Beach, Cannonbury Lane is a picture-perfect development, offering lots of new homes in the desirable Sconset area. The development is made up of 36 lots, with one of those offering a community building called “The Shed.” The Shed will have a gym, yoga deck, and a potting room, where owners can pot flowers that they pick from the community cutting garden outside. Imagine cutting your own fresh Hydrangeas each week on your way to the beach? How perfect is that?
There is a also a dedicated beach path located at the entrance to the neighborhood and there are lots of trails throughout the neighborhood for walking and biking–not to mention the historic Sconset Village is just minutes down the road as well!
But let’s get to the good stuff, let’s check out what the homes will look like!
The interiors are subtly coastal, bright and airy. The open layout living space flows right out onto the back patio, where owners can grill, entertain and enjoy that famous ocean breeze. Upstairs there are some spacious bedrooms and a glamourous master. The master suite has a huge ensuite bathroom and lots of storage for all those chic Nantucket outfits for the couple who likes to summer is style.
Traveling from Boston to Nantucket, especially when you hop on a Cape Air flight, is probably the fastest way to get a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
