I hit a major milestone this year, with my first ‘viral article.’ My article on Forbes about why Americans should visit Aruba has been viewed nearly 200,000 times and that makes me so happy because our experience traveling to Aruba this summer was just the breath of fresh air we needed after so many months in quarantine. Keep reading to find out why you should visit Aruba this winter!
Why You Should Visit Aruba This Winter
The world is still not our oyster. American passport holders are in a position we are not used to being in—we still have severely limited vacation options this winter. However, there are actually some great choices available to travel to immediately. One such destination is Aruba. Aruba has a low COVID-19 risk profile, no risk of hurricanes, and lots of direct flights from the East Coast, Aruba has defined itself as a safe, reliable place for American tourists over the past few months.
Flying to Aruba from Boston
Aruba is easily accessible from the East Coast via lots of direct flights. Our go-to pick for travel to the Caribbean is JetBlue. JetBlue’s complimentary WIFI, convenient routes and all-around level of customer service during these difficult times have made the airline standout in our minds. So, once you hop on the flight from Boston, in about 4.5 hours, you’ll land on “One Happy Island!”
Visit Aruba: Where to Stay in Aruba
Aruba has lots of amazing hotels for every type of traveler, but if you’re like us, right now easy stress-free travel is everything we are looking for, so we recommend going for the DIVI Aruba All Inclusive. Everything is right there, the team is eager to welcome guests back to their little paradise and their rooms are so close to the water, you will literally wake up to sound of gentle waves and fresh sea breeze. As I said in my Forbes piece, “All-inclusives serve a very specific purpose—provide relaxation with the absence of hassle. Whether you are looking to sit on a beach and sip pina coladas or you want to bring the kids windsurfing, DIVI is for you.” All you have to do is hop on a quick plane ride and all the warm sun and surf you could ever dream of are right there for you waiting in Aruba!
What to Do in Aruba
Aruba is the place for fun in the Caribbean. Definitely make time to get out onto the water. There is some fun beginner level snorkeling available right off the coast, with a few shipwrecks just waiting to be explored. We love Red Sail Aruba, their snorkel catamaran cruises are always a blast, we have booked them on both trips to the island!
Aruba is truly living up to its “One Happy Island” moniker these days and thanks to the level of care and attention that they have approached the current situation with, visit Aruba is a great choice this winter!
