Summer in Boston is a magical time. The Red Sox are playing, the sun is shining and the patios are open. One of our favorite patios is Eataly’s Il Patio in the Back Bay. Keep reading to find out why you need to visit Eataly Boston’s patio this summer.
1) Eataly Boston’s Food
Obviously the first reason why you need to visit Eataly is their amazing food. Expect classics like cacio e pepe and margarita pizza alongside seasonal salads and appetizers. On our recent visit we were lucky enough to enjoy some delicious pasta, pizza, burrata, and more! Check out these tasty dishes!
One of my favorite things about Eataly is that these dishes were meant to be enjoyed alfresco and on Il Patio, we get to do just that right here in the Back Bay!
2) The Drinks at Eataly Boston
The next reason you need to visit Eataly this summer is the drinks. Their menu has all the classic Italian cocktails like spritzes and negronis, but this summer they have also launched a new program called “Cocktail Collabs For A Cause.” The Senior Beverage Manager, Gregg Guertin, has teamed up with Boston-based content creators to create drinks inspired by their favorite spirits and seasonal flavors. A portion of the proceeds from each drink sold each month will be donated to a local organization. For the month of July try Brayan Mesa’s (@brayanmesa) watermelon cocktail while supporting Community Servings and in August try Kira MacLean’s (@kiraamaa) cocktail to support GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (also known as GLAD). So whether you are looking for a place for dinner with the family or a night out with your friends, be sure to stop by Eataly for a refreshing cocktail in the warm summer breeze.
3) The Ambiance
I love dining on patios in the summer because it gives us just a little hint of a European vacation in our own backyard.
Whenever we are in Europe in the summer we are always eating outside and to be able to do that while enjoying some classic Italian dishes right here in Boston, it doesn’t get much better than that. I also love all the décor and even the tables that Il Patio has, everything just transports you to Italy as soon as we arrive.
4) The Market
The best part is that the fun isn’t over when the dinner ends at Eataly. We always make time to check out the market to pick up a few items to bring home with us so we can cook an authentic Italian meal at home with a little help from Eataly’s amazing section of pastas, sauces and more!
We’ve actually been to the original Eataly in Torino, Italy and ever since we visited that location in 2013, we’ve been a huge fan of the entire concept. From dining on the patio, to checking out the market, to enjoying a gelato, Eataly has it all and it is just the activity for a summer evening in Boston.
