London is an amazing place to visit any time of year, but winter is sneakily a great time to hop across the pond for a long weekend (or longer!)! We have visited London several times in the Winter and January and February are a perfect little off-season to check out the sights when the city is free from crowds. Here are three reasons why you should visit London right now.
1) Why Visit London: No Crowds
The best reason to visit London in the winter is the freedom from crowds. There are no tour buses, no school groups, and generally fewer tourists at the city’s many cultural attractions. On our trip this winter we were able to make it into every historical sight that we wanted to without waiting for a long time, booking in advance, or even really planning out the visit. We visited Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, and Kensington Palace midday and we were able to just walk right in.
2) Why Visit London: The Weather
London gets a bad rap when it comes to weather. We have been extremely lucky when it comes to weather. On our last few trips this time of year we have had mostly sunny and mild days! So, if you are coming from a cold place like Boston or New York, a London winter will feel very temperate, and all you need a mid-weight winter jacket—no Canada Goose parkas necessary!
3) Why Visit London: Blueground Apartments
The third reason you should visit London is that Blueground, which is a property tech company that is changing how people live and work abroad, has some amazing apartments in the best neighborhoods in London. So, if you are looking for a change of pace this year, try out living in London for a month with the help of Blueground. Blueground gives guests:
- A real-time, online booking platform
- 24/7 support through their mobile app
- In-app check-in and check-out
- A portfolio of service partners offering things like airport transfers, home cleaning and more
- Flexible contract terms
So basically, Blueground has made it as easy as booking a hotel for a long-term stay. And all the apartments are operated by Blueground, you are not renting out someone else’s home, these are professionally managed so you are guaranteed to have a clean, safe, modern space. And they specifically built them out for remote work, so if you have a newfound flexible work schedule, try Blueground to explore a new city.
