Summertime is officially here, which means it is also time for backyard cookouts! I know the first cookout of the summer can be stressful, so we put together our top tips for throwing the perfect backyard cookout this season. Keep reading for our top BBQ tips.
1) Use Hero Bread
With health and wellness, the top of mind these days, it is so important to offer your guests a health-conscious menu. But that doesn’t mean giving up on the classics. Everything from burgers to sandwiches to wraps can all be done a little better with Hero Bread. Hero Bread products have 0g sugar, 1g net carbs, and fewer calories than other breads, while still offering a familiar taste. I love using the buns for burgers and chicken sandwiches at our summer cookouts.
2) Check the weather
This is a no brainer, but no one wants to attend a summer cookout in the rain. So double check the weather and plan for a rain date just in case. In New England you would be surprised at how many chilly rainy days we seem to get each summer. However, when we do get a nice day, it is so important to cherish it because what is better than a warm, balmy afternoon with friends and family?
3) Keep summer cookouts simple
Most of the fun of a cookout comes from the simple things: dining outside, eating with your hands, and laughing with friends and family. So, the key to the perfect cookout is not overthinking it. Stick to mostly finger foods, burgers, hotdogs, watermelon, corn on the cob, etc. It’s fun to get a little messy this time of year, and the clean-up is easy, you are outside! Not to worry if there are a few spills!
