A French 75 and a Trip to the Peninsula Paris

Is there anything like a trip to Paris to lift the spirits? Even in the rain and the cold, Paris will shake off any cobwebs of cabin fever you may be feeling. Book a trip to Paris from Boston this winter and splurge on the hotel and book the Peninsula Paris. One of the truly great hotels in Paris, the Peninsula is a treat no matter what time of year you book. But before we get into all the reasons to book a trip to Paris this year, lets treat ourselves to a little Parisian cocktail to get in the mood.

The French 75

Named after the fast-firing 75-millimeter field gun that was used by the French during World War I, the French 75 is a classic cocktail that goes down easily. And of course we like to make ours with our favorite gin, Highclere Castle Gin!

Ingredients

1 ounce Highclere Castle Gin
1/2-ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3 ounces Champagne
Lemon twist

Steps

Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a Champagne flute and top with the Champagne. Last but not least, garnish with a lemon twist.

Peninsula Paris

Located just steps from both the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, the Peninsula is a great choice for the person who has been to Paris a dozen times or one who is visiting for the first time. From exquisite accommodations, amazing culinary options and a grand entrance, what more could you ask of a Parisian hotel when you are trying to stave off the winter blues? While the Peninsula has many great onsite dining options, for a change of pace check out Lili one night to enjoy a live DJ while salivating over the Asian fusion menu.

But also do not skip breakfast at this hotel. A luxurious start to the day is the only way to enjoy a trip to Paris!

And definitely splurge on a suit for the ultimate in Parisian luxury this season!
