Summer’s Not Over Yet–Especially in Saint-Tropez

As the warm embrace of summer lingers in the South of France, there’s no better time to escape to the sun-soaked shores of Saint-Tropez. With plenty of summer days still ahead, the iconic Château de la Messardière beckons with newly unveiled suites and a private villa that promise to redefine luxury. This 19th-century palace, perched majestically on a hilltop, is more than just a destination—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss before the season fades.

Château de la Messardière, a jewel in the crown of Saint-Tropez, is reopening its doors with an impressive addition of 11 brand-new suites and a four-bedroom private villa. Meticulously renovated, the property seamlessly blends historical grandeur with contemporary elegance. The redesign was spearheaded by the acclaimed French architect and interior designer, Christophe Tollemer, whose signature aesthetic permeates all Airelles properties.

The new private villa is a testament to timeless sophistication, drawing inspiration from the golden age of the French Riviera. Its muted color palette of ochre, grey, and white creates a serene atmosphere, while terracotta and Salerne lava tiles adorn the floors, adding a touch of rustic charm. The villa’s interiors feature a curated mix of handpicked antique furniture and modern custom-made pieces, offering guests a harmonious blend of old-world charm and modern comfort.

Guests can indulge in the sparkling new 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, strategically placed in a tranquil spot within the fragrant gardens. This serene oasis is perfect for an afternoon of relaxation, perhaps with a glass of refreshing Roseblood in hand. Roseblood, the rosé wine from sister property Château d’Estoublon, boasts a Provencal flavor that perfectly complements the idyllic surroundings.

Château de la Messardière also embraces sustainability and nature with the introduction of its own colony of Airelles bees. These industrious pollinators reside in beehives scattered throughout the landscaped 12.5 hectares of gardens and pine groves. The fresh, home-grown honey produced by these bees is available across the property’s 10 sumptuous bars and restaurants, allowing guests to savor the natural sweetness of Provence.

Drawing inspiration from the lively summer scene on the Côte d’Azur, Jardin Tropezina now features brightly colored textiles from the ethical artisan fashion and homeware brand iKKim’O, adding a burst of color and energy to the beachfront setting.

Château de la Messardière exclusive partnerships

This season, Château de la Messardière proudly unveils two new fashion partnerships with esteemed brands, Orlebar Brown and Lacoste. Orlebar Brown introduces exclusive swimming shorts for adults and children, featuring the lush gardens of Château de la Messardière. These custom-made shorts, priced from €345, will be available at the Vanille & Lilas boutique and online through both the Airelles and Orlebar Brown websites.
