A Sunny Sunday in Santa Monica

Santa Monica is a sunny seaside escape just 20 minutes from downtown LA. We spent a lovely Sunday there earlier this season, let’s take a look at all the wonderful things we did! Here’s is a quick guide to Santa Monica!

The Santa Monica Pier

The first stop you have to make is the Santa Monic Pier. The official end of the Route 66, the Pier is a carnival over the Pacific Ocean. A gigantic pier that jets out into the Pacific, the pier itself is filled with rides, restaurants and shops. But the real reason to take a stroll out onto it is to enjoy the view. You really do get the best view of the beach and ocean.

Oh and of course the pier is filled with its fair share of photo opportunities.

Santa Monica Beach

No matter the time of year, Santa Monica is a beach town. So whether you want to tan, ride your bike or just take a nice long walk, head to the beach!

Brunch at Shutters on the Beach

All Sundays should include a fabulous brunch, especially if you are lucky enough to be in Santa Monica. And the place to go is 1 Pico at Shutters on the Beach. With not only a spectacular menu to choose from you, you also get an amazing view of the pier and beach. And what better way to enjoy your mimosa than while taking in one of the most famous views in the world?

We started with the watermelon salad and the burrata. And then moved onto the shakshouka and the lobster benedict. And for dessert we treated ourselves to a little chocolate cake.

Shutters on the Beach is just steps from that famous golden sand and we were so fortunate to be able to enjoy a sunny Sunday brunch with that gorgeous view!

And after brunch at Shutters on the Beach we enjoyed downtown like locals, we hopped on a scooter and rode around downtown and just took in that perfect California weather.  And when it was time to head back to LA, we were less than a half hour away!
