Paris is always a good idea. No matter how many times you visit, there is always more to explore. The winding streets, the fashion, the food, you can’t go wrong. On our recent trip to Paris we focused on the 3 C’s: crepes, castles and cabaret! Read on to find out how to spend 3 days in Paris!
How to Plan 3 Days in Paris
Paris can be overwhelming, especially if it is your first time visiting. My biggest piece of advice for newbies is: don’t try to do it all. There is way too much, you would need a lifetime to explore all the nooks and crannies of the city. So focus on a few pillar activities and build your trip from there. On this trip we really wanted to see a show at Moulin Rouge, head to Versailles and of course enjoy all the delicious food. And this was the perfect amount of to-do items for 3 days in Paris!
3 Days of Dining in Paris
Paris is the foodie capital of the world, there are world-class options for all types of cuisine, everything from street food to 3 Michelin Star tasting menus. This time around we wanted to take time to savor the classics. Our first dining stop was at Breizh Café in the Marais, our go-to spot for crepes in Paris. Our favorites are the: Bretonne, artichoke and the chorizo for savory and the apple compote for dessert.
The next day, after a long morning of splurging on Rue St Honore, we hopped over to the Park Hyatt Place Vendome for a luxurious afternoon tea. It was the perfect way to recuperate after a long day of shopping and exploring. The tea service consisted of a beautiful tower of both sweet and savory goodies, each more stunning than the last. The perfect splurge on a quick trip to Paris.
Exploring Paris
Versailles is another one of our favorite places to visit when we are in Paris because even though we have been three times in the past, it is an incredible property and I always take something new away with me on each visit. This time we decided to take a day to enjoy the fountain show and to just stroll through the grounds. And mother nature cooperated and gave us a beautiful late summer day.
After a day of exploring Versailles, we took the train back to Paris and got ready for a night out in Pigalle—we were headed to Moulin Rouge!
Moulin Rouge is world-famous and for good reason, the eye-catching red windmill, the neighborhood’s history, and the well-known dancers. We were able to get tickets to the late show, which started at 11pm, on the TripAdvisor app! All the information that we needed was right there on the app; it told us what the dress code was when to arrive and what to expect! So when we got there we knew exactly what to do and where to go!
We got there right around 10pm and were one of the first people in line; there is no assigned seating so you want to get there as close to 10pm as possible because that gives you the best chance of getting prime seats. We had to wait in a holding room until the previous show got out at around 10:45 and then some ushers came over and brought us to the theater.
No pictures were allowed once you were inside, but the theater was just beautiful. The show started slightly after 11pm and it was as amazing as any Vegas show we have seen, acrobatics, dancing, singing, they did it all!
Getting to Paris
Paris is so accessible from Boston. We flew Norwegian on one of their many direct routes to Charles de Gaulle. After only 6 hours we were in Paris! Norwegian is our favorite long-haul budget airline. Their options really let you have a luxurious trip on a budget and the airline is such a great option for so many routes. Not only do you get first-class service, but you have first-class options. You can choose to pay for exactly the services that you want and skip the rest so you can focus on planning your dream vacation! And in the premium cabin, not only will you get to travel in style in a brand new 787 Dreamliner, but you will also get to enjoy a 3-course premium meal, beverages throughout the flight, priority boarding and more! Head over to Norwegian.com to learn all about their premium offering!
